FIVE NON-NEGOTIABLES OF THE BELIEVER AND THE CHURCH
FIVE NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE TO BE IN VIEW IN THE CHRISTIAN MIND IF THEY ARE GOING TO BE A GODLY PERSON OR A GODLY CHURCH.

A HIGH VIEW OF GOD
It is absolutely essential that a local church, the believer, perceive themselves as an institution or person for the glory of God. Isaiah 6
THE ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE - RECOGNIZE ITS TOTAL SUFFICIENCY.
Matthew 4:4 If we are fed by every word that comes out of the mouth of God, then we ought to study every word. Its mostly today’s attitude, “I don’t need another sermon; I’d rather be fellowshipping.” Fellowship is important, but it does not replace the Word of God.
Every week it seems in my life that I learn something new from the Word of God that I never fully understood before.
SOUND DOCTRINE: CLARITY OF BIBLE TEACHING
Can you explain the truths from God’s word? Like, life, death, heaven, hell, sin, man, Christ, God, the Holy Spirit, the position of the believer, the flesh, the world, Satan? Etc. 1 Timothy
Here is the key to Scripture: you read the text, find out what it says and means, draw out a divine truth, and establish the truth in the mind, and then repeat it.
PERSONAL HOLINESS
We are victimized by an absolutely unholy society, and it gets our thinking mixed up. I cringe when I think of the philosophical and immoral filth that our society has created. People’s minds are corrupted and drawn away from God as a result of that.
Christian’s are called to live a pure life, and we can’t compromise that. 2 Corinthians 7:1. Some people know the Bible, but do not practice the doctrine of personal holiness in their life and in their living.
SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY: UNDERSTANDING THE NEED AND PRIORITY OF BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP
Christ is the head of the Church, the father is the head of the family, the elders, pastors, or head of the local assembly. Ephesians 1:22, 4:15, 5:12-13, Hebrews 13:7, 17
THUS, IF WE ARE GOING TO BE A CHURCH THAT IS GODLY AND HAVE PEOPLE WHO ARE GODLY, WE MUST HAVE A RIGHT FRAMEWORK. IT HAS TO HAVE A HIGH VIEW OF GOD, THE PURSUIT OF A CHURCH BODY SHOULD BE TO KNOW GOD. IN SEEKING TO KNOW GOD, THE AUTHORITY OF THE SCRIPTURE MUST BE RECOGNIZED, FOR IT IS THROUGH THE BIBLE THAT WE CAN KNOW GOD. A CHURCH BODY SHOULD A HAVE HIGH VIEW OF SCRIPTURE, AND A COMMITMENT TO THE TEACHING OF SOUND, CLEAR DOCTRINE. THE PEOPLE OF THE CHURCH ALSO SHOULD SEEK PERSONAL HOLINESS. AND SEEK TO SUBMIT THEIR SOULS TO THE CARE OF THOSE THE LORD HAS PLACED OVER THEM AS SPIRITUAL AUTHORITIES.

Our Ten Objectives as a church to seek to Accomplish
To guide each individual to put his full faith and trust In the Lord Jesus Christ and to love Him with all his heart, soul, mind and strength. Romans 10:9
To build Christ's character in individuals, In marriages and In families so that we will be above reproach and an advertisement for the Christian faith. Colossians 1:28,29
To teach every man how to delight In and meet the needs of his wife with the same sort of love that Christ gave to the church when He sacrificed Himself for her. Ephesians 5:25
To teach every wife how to love her husband and children, how to be discreet, pure in mind; how to manage her own home, and how to adapt to her own husband so that the Christian faith cannot be spoken against by those who know them. Titus 2:4,5
To turn the heart of every father toward his sons and daughters in order to teach them Scriptural principles on how to be successful persons, partners and parents. Malachi 4:6
To demonstrate our love for the Lord and our loyalty to each other by giving only a good report of each other unless we follow Matthew 18 in the spirit of restoring rather than exposing. Galatians 6:1
To explain and apply God's principles of finances In the church and in each family so that God can provide specific direction and illustrate His supernatural power. Malachi 3:10; Luke 16:11,12
To motivate women to a life of godliness and faithfulness by providing meaningful ministries and financial assistance for. them when they are older and without husband or relatives who can support them. I Timothy 5
To help each Christian discover his spiritual gift and assist him to exercise his gift in expressing God's love to the members of the body of Christ. I Corinthians 12; Romans 12; Ephesians 4
To train each Christian to edify one another and make the church strong by sharing with each other what God is doing in each life. Ephesians 5:19
THE SHEPHERD AND THE SHEEP OF HIS FLOCK
verse1 elders -- alike in office and age (1Peter 5:5).
Shepherd, Pastor, Bishop, Teacher
I . . . also an elder -- To put one's self on a level with those whom we exhort, gives weight to one's exhortations (compare 2 John 1:1,2). Peter, in true humility for the Gospel's sake, does not put forward his apostleship here, wherein he presided over the elders. In the apostleship the apostles have no successors, for "the signs of an apostle" have not been transmitted. The presidents over the presbyters and deacons, by whatever name designated, angel, bishop, or moderator, &c., though of the same ORDER as the presbyters, yet have virtually succeeded to a superintendency of the Church analogous to that exercised by the apostles (this superintendency and priority existed from the earliest times after the apostles [TERTULLIAN]); just as the Jewish synagogue (the model which the Church followed) was governed by a council of presbyters, presided over by one of themselves, "the chief ruler of the synagogue." (Compare VITRINGA [Synagogue and Temple, Part II, chs. 3 and 7]).
WHAT DO WE MEAN BY BIBLICAL PREACHING
Biblical preaching is a divinely-ordained way of calling people to repentance and for edifying the people of God. It is more than speaking in worship services, and it is deeper than offering life-learned principles. It is communicating God's Word to His people - standing between the world of Scripture and the world of people and speaking the truth of God.
Unfortunately, today, many pastors are careless in this task and allow preaching to become a secondary priority, which has produced poor preaching and minimal growth in the Church. Some wonder whether preaching is an out-of-date form of communication and not of value to current church needs. However, it is in the preaching ministry of the Church where God's Word is proclaimed and His people are called to respond. Therefore, pastors and church leaders alike must gain a firm grasp of the importance and power of preaching and an awareness of what is and is not true biblical preaching.
PURPOSE AND OJBECTIVES of the Rivers of Joy Baptist Church.
SECTION TWO:
This Corporation is organized for exclusively religious purposes (including charitable purposes common to a pastoral church ministry as defined by Scripture). Our commission is summarized as follows
18 And Jesus came and said unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: Matt 28:18-20.
The ultimate purpose of this Corporation, this body of Believers is to fulfill the Great Commission and to fulfill the purpose set forth by the Scripture. And we believe the following are means to that objectives.
